Whatever You Say, Say Nothing….

March 12, 2015 eblaney

The biggest changes in history which relate to the welfare of all the people in society, started out with somebody voicing what was then considered a controversial opinion. Consider the abolition of slavery, the granting of the vote for women, the decriminalisation of homosexuality, the introduction of contraception and indeed, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights itself. These and countless other pivotal moments in the development of our civilised society resulted from those who have the courage of their convictions and regardless of the cost to themselves, they stood by what was right not always what was convenient. Election 2014, who actually gives a damn?

May 22, 2014 eblaney

It is said that “bad governments get elected when good people don’t vote” and while it is a clever phrase, it is also 100 percent correct. You see, the way our so-called democracy works is that the majority of elected representatives, supposedly representing the majority of citizens, get to dictate the direction and policies of Parliament, whether that is in Dublin or in Strasbourg. And while this is a lovely little theory, there is one rather large fly in the ointment……. [Read More]

Tesla will change your world, literally.

December 8, 2013 eblaney

This article is about a seismic shift in transportation which is already happening. Make no mistake, the Tesla Model S is a game changer and the entire oil fueled world will change as a result. Consider these facts; it costs about five euros to ‘fill the tank’ on which it can travel 300 miles, it only needs a single oil change every fifteen years, it can have it’s ‘operating system’ updated anytime by the factory as it is permanently connected to the internet and that, even using power station supplied mains electricity, it is still fifty percent cleaner than an equivalent petrol ‘car.

Not forgetting that the seven seater hatchback is faster to one hundred miles an hour than the new Porsche 911! [Read More]

Drug Dealing Banks Are Above The Law.

January 7, 2013 eblaney

In 2009, UBS paid €600million to the US regulatory authorities following an investigation which showed that the bank ‘may’ have assisted wealthy Americans engage in tax evasion. By admitting that they had, the bank got a financial slap on the wrists and that was all.  Before Christmas we learned that the bank had been hit with a Eur1,250million ‘fine’ in order for rigging the LIBOR interest rate over a period of years, in collusion with at least half a dozen other banks. This is the rate which affects how much you repaid on your credit card or loan account. Still, last year they paid out Eur2,800million in bonus’s to their bankster employees. [Read More]

Labour TD Calls Gardai to One Woman Protest

December 12, 2012 eblaney

“…We need a Constitution that will protect our children and guide the courts to make decisions that keep families together and that are in the child’s best interests.  I know the people of West Cork would welcome the opportunity to say ‘yes, we value childhood’ and ‘yes, Ireland values all children and their rights’.” Labour Deputy Micheal McCarthy, Cork Nov 2011

In one sense, it would be hard for anyone to disagree with the sentiment expressed by Labour Deputy Michael McCarthy back in November 2011, prior to the referendum. However a lone parent who is the mother of an autistic boy last week attempted to highlight her dissatisfaction with the proposed cuts to the Carer’s allowance certainly didn’t feel the love when she went to Deputy McCarthy’s constituency office in Dunmanway last week.

Letter to Minister Eamon Gilmore Re Genocide in Gaza.

November 20, 2012 eblaney

The following post is a letter I have just sent to Minister for Foreign Affairs, Eamon Gilmore (and to all members of  An Dail and Seanad Eireann) pleading for real action on the genocide presently taking place in Gaza. To paraphrase the old but accurate quote, evil can only prevail when good people do nothing.
Please please send your own email (or the one pre-written)  to all TD’s and Senators and let them know that you are horrified by the continued inaction of government, with just one click, using the link below.

What you should know about the Childrens Referendum

October 14, 2012 eblaney

If you love children, you’ll vote yes. Why wouldn’t you? If you are one of the less than 50% of the nation who actually votes, you wouldn’t want to seem as if you didn’t care about children would you? And you know something? That’s exactly what the state are banking on. [Read More]

H.A.A.R.P. – Are significant weather events ‘Man Made’ ?

August 14, 2012 eblaney

H.A.A.R.P.

“It’s not only greenhouse gas emissions: Washington’s new world order weapons have the ability to trigger climate change”. Yeah, you’re probably thinking not more of the ‘conspiracy theory’ nonsense but after five successive disastrous summers in Ireland and monumental weather events worldwide, it might be time to look a little bit deeper….

By Michel Chossudovsky – Professor of Economics, University of Ottawa and TFF associate, author of The Globalization of Poverty, second edition, Common Courage Press

The important debate on global warming under UN auspices provides but a partial picture of climate change; in addition to the devastating impacts of greenhouse gas emissions on the ozone layer, the World’s climate can now be modified as part of a new generation of sophisticated “non-lethal weapons.” Both the Americans and the Russians have developed capabilities to manipulate the World’s climate. Three resign in one week, but there should be hundreds more.

July 4, 2012 eblaney

We are not even remotely surprised when we hear of bankers, financiers or people in the financial services industry of being involved in criminal activity. What sets this apart from all other cases to date is the speed at which the chairman, chief executive officer and chief operations officer all resigned. This article examines why and what can be done to eradicate so called ‘white collar’ crime. [Read More]
